Q. What is a “Boomer Babe,” any way?
A. Born between 1946 and 1964, we are women who are comfortable enough in our own skin to realize that the mid-life years can be some of the best and most exciting in our entire life. We know that the hubris of youth is behind us and the wisdom of the years has made us pretty darn attractive—both inside and out. Secure enough to be called Babe, we are Boomer Babes and proud of it!

Q. What exactly is the point of the Boomer Babes Rock! (BBR) web site?
A. As the Founder of BBR, Allison Bottke’s main goal is to empower and Inspire her fellow boomer babe sisters. As someone who has overcome tremendous obstacles and worked hard to achieve the dreams of her heart, she wants to encourage other women to do the same.

Q. How does she intend to do that?
A. Allison understands that knowledge is power. When women are informed about whatever it is that concerns or interests them, they are better able to make positive and life-changing decisions. Therefore, Allison’s desire is to grow BBR into a powerful Information Resource for boomer women around the world. She ultimately envisions Boomer Babes Rock! as a “Portal of Purpose,” where Boomer Babes can come to help them find the tools and information needed to achieve the dreams of their heart.

Q. How can a web site be a “Portal of Purpose?”
A. By delivering valuable information that consumers want and need. BBR will eventually feature an extensive Resources & Friends section, acting as a gateway to cutting-edge information and services vital to boomer women. BBR will also distribute a monthly online Dream-Zine filled with valuable content focused solely on Empowering and Inspiring boomer babes to achieve the dreams of their heart. We will also offer educational and informative LIVE Teleseminars on topics of interest to Boomer Babes.

Because women are intensely relational and often learn best from hearing how others before us have accomplished similar dreams, BBR will also feature bi-monthly in-depth Q&A interviews with special Celebrity Guest VIP’s who will share their personal stories with our readers. Plus, we have a Boomer Babe Blog being written by seven boomer women, including some best-selling authors!

Q. So, Allison’s books are a part of Boomer Babes Rock?
A. Of course they are! Over the past couple of years, Allison has grown more and more passionate about connecting with Boomer Babes via her writing. Her debut novel, A Stitch in Time, features a Boomer Babe lead character! And One Little Secret, her second novel, released e in summer 2007 and also features a dynamic Boomer Babe who finally achieves the dream of her heart! She has partnered with David C. Cook Publishers (formerly Cook Communications Ministries) to write a trilogy of contemporary hip-lit novels for baby boomer women. The first installment in the VA VA VA BOOM! series will release in 2009.
Additionally, Allison’s upcoming non-fiction projects in-development are targeted at addressing important needs and concerns specific to boomer women and men.

Allison has launced the international S.A.N.I.T.Y. Support Group Network in 2008, in conjunction with her latest non-fiction, Setting Boundaries With Your Adult Chidren: Six Steps to Hope and Healing for Struggling Parents.. She will also be speaking on SETTING BOUNDARIES WITH YOUR ADULT CHILDREN in 2008-2009.

Q. I can understand “Empowering,” but what exactly do you mean by “Inspiring?” Are you some kind of religious organization?
A. Although Allison is the Founder of God Allows U-Turns, the acclaimed Christian inspirational book series and international outreach, she has specifically developed BBR to appeal to a much broader audience. Read what she personally has to say about this aspect:

“As someone who spent 35-years believing that God did not exist, I know firsthand what it feels like to be on a challenging journey without a navigator…without direction…and without a map to get where you’re going. It is my firm belief that to be balanced individuals we must be aware of the spiritual component that exists at the core of every human being. When we choose to ignore the spiritual aspect of our life we get off course and can often find ourselves lost on the journey of life. Although my Christian worldview will be evident, it is not my goal or the goal of BBR to preach denominationalism or doctrine. Instead, I intend to encourage my fellow boomer babe sisters to get in touch with their Higher Power as they know it. Because of my worldview, I intend to make Christian information and resources readily available to fellow boomer babes who may be interested, yet I will never insist it’s my way or the highway.”
